As you know, Bilislam stands out from other social media websites as a unique platform for Muslim women.

Our main focus is exploring Islamic wisdom while fostering meaningful connections among each other.

We have various tools and features to make your learning journey as friendly and easy as possible.

Whether you’re just starting out exploring Islam or already have advanced knowledge of it, we guarantee, in-sha-Allah, that our friendly platform will make expanding your Islamic wisdom fun and exciting.

This platform was designed to be extremely simple and easy to use.

Create your account

Creating a Bilislam account allows you to participate in the platform Activity; You can share photos, videos, and documents with your sisters. You can also follow people you like and accounts you’re interested in.

There are two ways to create a Bilislam account:

• From the signup button in the header that takes you directly to the registration page.
• By enrolling in a Program or a Course and completing the signup process with it.

Sign in to your account

When you register an account, you’ll be automatically signed in to this platform.

If you’re not signed in, you can do so by clicking the Sign in button at the header, or by going to the Sign up page and clicking Log in.

If you forgot your password, you can reset it here.

Navigate your account

When you register and log into your account, you’ll have two ways to navigate this platform:

1. Your Profile page, where you’ll find many tabs to explore all the different options you have.
2. Your Profile Menu on the top-left side of your screen (desktop) or the Navigation Menu on the top-right side of your screen (mobile).

Your Media Uploads

You can view your media in your Menu > My Uploads > My Photos/ My Videos/ My Documents

You can also organize your photos and videos into albums, and your files into folders, according to the file type, the courses and lessons in your community, or whatever organization system you choose.

You can upload individual documents and image sizes up to 10 MB.

As for Video, upload individual file sizes up to 100 MB and no more.

If you want to upload more, the maximum number of files you can add to one activity post or document upload is 5 per batch.

View your notifications

You’ll receive various notifications on this platform, in-sha-Allah.

These notifications will alert you when there’s a change in your account, such as a password change.

They’ll also notify you about members mentioning you in their posts, or commenting on your own, groups-related alerts, private messages, and connection requests.

You can choose which notification to receive from your Menu > My Account > Notification Settings > Preferences.

You can also choose whether to receive only Web notifications (which appear at the corner of your browser screen when you’re logged in to the website), Email notifications (which will be sent to your Email inbox even when you’re not logged in every 12 hours), or both.

You can change your email and password from your Menu > My Account > Login Information

Notification Settings

Preferences

Like we said before, you can choose which notifications to receive across all your devices.

You can also choose whether a notification is sent to your email inbox or appears in the corner of your screen when you’re logged in.

Subscriptions

These settings let you see which social groups, forums, or forum discussions you are subscribed to and unsubscribe from them easily from this page just by clicking the X icon next to them.

Privacy

Customize your profile visibility settings to choose who can view your profile details.

• Public: Everyone will see the information, even logged-out viewers.
• All Members: Only logged-in members of Bilislam will see it.
• My Connections: Only your approved Connections will see it.
• Only Me: The information will be hidden and no one will see it but you.

Blocked Members

Any time you block a member at Bilislam, they will appear here.

Blocking a user prevents them from interacting with you on the site; viewing your profile, sending messages or connection requests, following you, or commenting on your posts.

Hopefully, you will never need to block anyone here on Bilislam, yet it’s important to understand the process and know how to do so if necessary.

If someone’s behavior has become disruptive or offensive, it’s better to report them to us, so we can take the appropriate actions.

Group Invites

Any member within the community has the ability to extend an invitation for you to join their groups. But, you have the option to limit group invites exclusively to your connections.

Export your Data

To comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we want to be transparent about how we collect, use, and share your personal data. 

You may download a copy of all data you have created on this platform. Click the button “below “Request Data Export” to start a new request.

An email will be sent to you to verify the request for the exportation of data. You must click the link to confirm it. 

Then the site admin will review your request and if approved, a zip file will be generated and emailed to you.

Delete your Account

Even if you cancel your Programs and Courses, you can still access the platform of Bilislam.

However, if you want to delete your account entirely, you can do that too.

By deleting your account, all of your platform activity will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

If you wish, you have the option to request the export of your personal data before deleting your account.
